Today during dinner I broke the news to my kids. I said those dreaded words. "Tomorrow you all have to get up early." Chorus of moans and whys surround the table.
Scott- "Because mommy has to start back to work tomorrow and I have work too. And in a week you guys will all be in school"
Bella- *with look of horror on her face* "No school for me!"
Theresa- "No school for you."
Will- "ya know I have been thinking, I am going to try and clean out my desk once a week this year. Cause last year it was a big mess. And actually the year before that and the year before that."
Theresa- "maybe you could actually keep track of your books. Instead of swearing to me that you brought them home and then you finding them lost in your desk a week later."
Will- "No, my friends would find my lost books in THEIR desks."
Theresa - "How do you suppose that happened"?
Will- "Sneaky Ninjas came into the school in the middle of the night and put my books in their desks."
Theresa- "So..not that you aren't paying attention and you accidentally stuck your books in their desks?"
Will- "No definitely sneaky ninjas."
Theresa- "Makes perfect sense..."
Tomorrow is my first day of in-service. First day of a new year. Here is to a fresh, ninja-free start back.

Why I quit my resolution to meal plan and cook more....
Dinner time.....
Rachel- *crying* I hate this! I hate eating
Me- "Do I ever make anything that everyone doesn't hate?"
Will- "Sometimes. Not often, but sometimes."
Me-"You know, some kids have mothers that don't even cook them dinner!"
Luke- "THAT.....WOULD....BE....AWESOME."
**************************************************
After that display, I don't know why I would be nice to them...But I am just that nice I guess.
Hot chocolate with extra marshmallows please. From now on, I am sticking with chocolate for dinner.

"Hmmm...This isn't half bad."
LOTS of marshmallows
He didn't start off with one marshmallow. That is how many survive the first 25 seconds.

thingies
I was so excited! I had found the hair thingies. (real word-I think I have been reading too much fifth grade fiction? Frindle) I bought the cutest hair thingies for Rachel's new school year at daycare. They were cute little clips where one was a butterfly and one was a ladybug! The NICE rubber bands that her very thin and fine hair need. Little bows. All in one great package for one low price at wal*mart.- Sure wal*mart I will take some cash for that great plug in.
BUT we had lost them. By we, I mean my daughter and her much taller friend found them on TOP of the bathroom shelf and opened them. And spread them all over. After I found them, nicely*cough cough* sent them outside, and I put them in a plastic bag. Then I lost the bag. Oops.
But last night I found them. I was so happy I called Rachel in. She was not that impressed. I yelled at Scott to check it out. Again, he didn't see the reason to be jumping. Fine. I was pretty happy.
This morning. I wake up and come downstairs to take a shower. Brushing teeth and then I see something colorful in the toilet. You love how I check my toilet in the morning, huh? The baggie of hair thingies. Swirling in water..around and around. I sigh. And I am going to wal*mart with my three dollars to get a new set!

Canada?
As I am climbing in Will's bed for him to fall asleep....
Me- "Will, we are going to memorize a new scripture. It is Pappy Demi's favorite."
Will-" What is it?"
Me- "Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. I as in William Demi can do all things like go to bed by myself or be nice to my brother through Him which is Jesus who gives you the strength."
BIG PAUSE
Will- "All sure is a lot of things. You mean I could even drive to Canada?"
Me- "Go to sleep William."

Funny Kids
Luke- "Mommy, can I have these cups?"
Me- "Luke, those cups are a lot of money."
Luke- "I checked. They are $3,000. I can get them" *tosses cups in cart
Me- "No...." taking cups out of cart
***********************************************************************
Rachel- "Did you see what the dog do to my shoes? He chewed them up. Let's get rid of the dog."
Will- "What is the big deal? Just buy some new shoes."
Rachel- "Those shoes matched my new shirt. You just can't buy shoes that match like that." sighs and stomps away

Me- "We need to clean up this house"
Will- "We need to just move."

He is real!
I went out to the porch to get the mail and met the mailman on my doorstop. Of course following close behind were my two little shadows. That would be #2 and 3. Bella can't quite crawl fast enough and Will is engrossed with Scooby Doo on-line. They run out onto the porch (in underwear of course- too hot they say) and see me getting the mail. "Who is that?" Rachel asks as I walk into the house. "The mailman." Luke of course waves and says "good-bye mailman. Thanks!" Rachel comes running into the living room with Luke close behind.
"Will, the mailman does exist! We saw him!" "Yeah!" Luke chimes in. "Really? huh," and Will returns to game. Rachel turns to Luke "And did you see that he carries a big purse! cool."
So he does exist. And carries a purse.

yikes!
I did it. I didn't mean to do it. I looked and then the thought crossed my mind. And I said NO! But then it kept pulling at me. So I did it. I looked at the calendar. And counted how many weeks until I go back to work. And how many weeks until it is Will's first day of FIRST grade.
And then I took a big deep breath.
To be honest I LOVE my job. Seriously. I couldn't imagine ever doing anything else. But still I am OFF. And enjoying every minutes (well, most minutes!) with my family. We went to the beach and camping. But there is still some things I must get busy with. Busy busy on vacation!
1. MAYBE camping again. The kids loved it. We will see.
2. An amusement park if some kind
3. I WANT to go see the curve!!! This has been for the past 3 summers and I have never got there.
4. On a picnic
And to be honest I am not sure what else?? But I want the rest of the summer to be fun! And relaxing!
Just a side note- the other day school came up and I thought Will would flip. He was not a big fan of school last year. But he said "I cannot wait for school." Me- "Really?" Will- "Yeah, I miss the bus." Of course. The bus.

Scott- "Will, put yourself in a bubble."
Will- "I can't. Uncle Doug says it isn't manly to put yourself in a bubble."

Rachel- "Baby Bella is the most beautiful girl in the world."
Me- "What about you? I thought you were the most beautiful girl?"
Rachel- "Mom, I am a princess. She is the little girl."

So I lied...
I didn't get my vacation post written...but I do have a funny.
I was suppose to teach 2nd grade this year. Which I was VERY excited about. But things have changed and I will be teaching K-garten. I have been very nervous about this. Today Scott comes out of the bathroom and says "So I was brushing my teeth and thinking about it and you are going to have a room full of Williams." "Yes I am." "Wow" he said and walked back into the bathroom. Didn't really boost my confidence!

My men
Will- "Mom, I don't know how this got into my mouth?"
He shows me something little and unrecognizable.
Mom (me)- "I don't know Will. Maybe it is a popcorn shell. Throw it in the trash."
Will places it back into his mouth.
Will- "It's a booger. YUM!"
Mom is now gaging...
::
Scott- Why does my cup stink?
Me- Probably because my dishwasher stinks and I need a new one.
Scott- That is what we should get you for your birthday.
Me- Oh, so you got new golf clubs and I get a dishwasher?
Scott- Well, you don't like to golf?

disgusting!
So my almost 2 year old son talks way more at this age than his siblings did. He is so funny. and has quite the sense of humor. I DID buy a potty chair because he was taking off his diaper and straddling our large toilet. Of course he has never gone in the toilet. And I am not pushing it. After the other 2, I am ready to let go and it will happen when it happens. I have had 2 in diapers for many months before. But he- how nicely- lets me know right after he has pooped.
So he is standing in the living room and says "mom" and grabs his butt. "I pooped." Grab the baby wipes and diaper and bring them here I tell him. I mean come on. I can't stop checking my e mail to go get such things. I am lazy, I mean pregnant! ;)
So he brings me them and lays on the floor with his legs up. See his brilliance. I say to him as I am changing his diaper, when you feel like you are going to poop, you should go in the potty. Then you can flush the poop like Rachel and say "bye, bye poop!"
He looked at me like I had 4 heads, wrinkled his nose, and said "mom, your disgusting."
